Show Notes

2021 in Review and Looking Ahead to Recruiting in 2022

In this special episode of the HRchat show, we wrap up 2021 by reviewing another rollercoaster year in Recruitment and HR. We also make predictions for the labor market in 2022.

Bill's guest this time is Andrew Flowers, Labor Economist at Appcast, a global leader in programmatic recruitment advertising technology and services.

Prior to joining Appcast in 2021, Andrew spent nearly three years at Indeed.com as an economist at its global research institute, the Hiring Lab. Before that, he was the quantitative editor and an economics writer at FiveThirtyEight, a premier media destination for data-driven coverage of politics and sports. Flowers began his career as an economic analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta where he analyzed macroeconomic and financial data, produced reports and briefed its president, board of directors, and other stakeholders on economic and financial conditions in the U.S. and abroad.

Listen as he shares his take on the bounce back from the pandemic and Great Resignation. Andrew also attempts to predict what recruiters, HR pros, and business leaders can expect from the labor market and recruitment tech in the year ahead as a result of expected inflation rates and government stimulus measures.

By the way, if you've enjoyed this episode, check out the recent HRchat interview with Andrew's colleague and Appcast CEO, Chris Forman.
